Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Richard Zi Zhuang is a Postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Vunjak-Novakovic’s Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering at Columbia University. He earned his B.Eng. in Materials Science and Engineering at Imperial College London and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University. His research focuses on vascularization of engineered tissues, the development of human tissue models of disease and injury, and the creation of genetically encoded fluorescent reporter cell lines to monitor cellular function over time.
Outside the lab, Richard is mostly thinking about what he’s going to be doing when he goes back into the lab.
