Hagit Shoyhet-Smoilovky

Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Hagit earned her MSc in chemistry and nanotechnology under the supervision of Prof. Noam Adir at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 2020. Her work focused on coupling protein complexes to inorganic catalysts.

She then pursued her PhD in Biomedical Engineering in Prof. Shulamit Levenberg’s group, where her research focused on engineering functional human tissues to study and treat complex diseases. Her work included the development of engineered skeletal muscle platforms for type 2 diabetes therapy and 3D vascularized tumor models for studying cancer-microenvironment interactions.

In 2026, Hagit joined Prof. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic’s lab as a postdoctoral researcher, where her research focuses on in vitro modeling of the interactions between the tumor microenvironment and the immune system.
