Born and raised in New York City, Martin graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Biophysics in 2019 and an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering in 2020. His undergraduate and graduate research focused on developing optogenetic systems to regulate cardiac and endothelial cell behavior. His current work focuses on using an optogenetic neuromuscular platform with patient serum to study the disease mechanisms of Myasthenia Gravis and evaluate the efficacy of a new therapeutic drug.
In his free time, Martin enjoys skiing and playing soccer with family and friends.
