Daniel Rivas
Masters Student
Daniel graduated in 2023 from Hofstra University with a B. S. in Bioengineering and an honors thesis on a protocol for generating scaffolds via the ultrasonic decellularization of plant leaves. Currently, he is a master’s student in the Biomedical Engineering program.
Daniel joined the GVN Lab to assist the lung team in developing lung bioreactors to model gene therapy of cystic fibrosis, the characterization of native cystic fibrosis mucus, and the formulation of a bioartificial mucus. His interests in prototyping and tissue engineering make strong motivators to continue his work with the lung team.
