Barry is from Margate NJ. Studied biochemistry at Yale and Cambridge University. Received a PhD in molecular biophysics from Columbia where he discovered new regulatory proteins in the PI3K signaling pathway under Professor Ramon Parsons. Also received an MD from Columbia in 2009 after which he completed internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at New York Hospital. Focus of research is signal transduction cascades in endogenous cardiac stem cells, and specifically their role in heart failure. Was an avid rower, but now is an avid father of three awesome kids. Favorite activity is crossfit, watching football and eating Pepe’s pizza.
